Brick + Mortar International Videoart Festival, curated by Loretta YarlowVarious Locations, Greenfield, MA
2-channel, 13-min loop without sound

Drawn to the paintings of Vilhelm Hammershøi’s wife Frederikke and an anonymous video made by one of Ingrid Betancourt’s Columbian captors, Waiting 1: Underneath the Willow Tree, invites the audience to consider the stillness of the physical mind and body as it tries to free itself from psychological constraints and connect to an allegorical landscape that is unfailingly omnipresent yet elusive; one that is in a constant state of flux, yet always forgiving.
