Curious as to whether or not we have an innate instinct to procreate in the face of death , I studied the 4-week cycle of Pink Lady Butterflies. As their life span was coming to a close, the copulation frenzy began. I returned periodically throughout the month to tear, dye and weave strips of hospital bedsheets.
